Founders' Day on 6th July was a most enjoyable occasion. It provided School with an opportunity to reflect upon the Centenary and to join together in listening to readings taken from the School magazines of 1912, 1937, 1962 and 1987. The music performed by Sam Akrill of Year 8 and the choir added greatly to the occasion. Our Guest of Honour, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, spoke thoughtfully upon the theme of social responsibility, and we also welcomed The Worshipful the Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Mrs Pauline Young and Consort Cllr Michael Young, and the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mr George Almond and Mrs Elisabeth Almond.
